Back in late Spring I applied to speak at WordCamp Montreal and got chosen! My good friend Carl Alexander lives there and a trip to Canada would check off my <em>leave-the-country-ever-year</em> list. Made sense.

This trip hit different. I was traveling by myself really enjoyed myself. Of course, I was heading to mah peeps but, as an extrovert, any alone time could get iffy. It didn’t.

I met up with my good friend Carl and he took me all over the city. Sushi, cocktails, Old Montreal, New Montreal; what a city!

The event went off without a hitch. I saw many familiar faces and so many new faces.

I submitted two talks and both were chosen. Sort a. The orgs asked me to combine both into one talk and I obliged. The talk combined my WordPress origin story and my talk about the importance of IRL over virtual.

What a city and WordPress community! I long for the day I get to return!
